Devices

Device module let you to add network equipment that reside within your network. Devices added will be included in Kiwire network monitoring process. To access the device module, click on Devices > Devices from the navigation. On the devices listing module, you may search for specific device by using the search field.





The field and its function description is listed below.

Field Function
Identity A unique name for the equipment.
IP Address The unique IP address of the equipment.
Type The type of the equipment such as controller, wifi access point, switch, router and traffic management – Ruijie: RG-PA*.
Vendor The vendor of the equipment such as Mikrotik, WifiDog, CMCC and many more.
Location The address of the equipment.
Description The description for the equipment.
Action

Modules action :

  • To edit the setting of the device.
  • To delete the device.




ADD NEW DEVICE

Click on “Add Device” button and populate the required fields. Fill in the field with relevant information to complete the process.



The field and its function description is listed below.

Field Function
Device Type Select the relevant device type for your equipment.
Vendor Select the relevant device vendor.
Identity A unique name or alias for the equipment.
* e.g : If the equipment is a wifi access point in 3rd floor, left wing, you may want to call it “level3L-wif1i”.
IP Address The unique IP address of the equipment.
Address The location or address of the equipment.
Username The username of device.
Password The password of device.
Shared Secret Key The shared secret key for this device.
COA Port The Change of Authority Port for device.
Description The description for the equipment.
Monitoring Method

How is the device being monitored.

  • Ping : Kiwire will use simple ICMP ping to determined if the device is online or offline.
  • Agent: A software agent or compatible agent is installed into the devices. Kiwire will poll the agent or agent will send updates information to Kiwire platform.
Seamless Roaming Interval The seamless roaming interval for device.
Community Community string to allow SNMP access to this device.
SNMP Version The device SNMP version.
MIB Management Information Base (MIB) to be use in the SNMP request.




EDIT OR DELETE DEVICE

Click on edit icon, the edit screen be display which you can edit the setting of the devices.  Click on the delete icon to delete the device. A prompt will be display to ask for your confirmation to proceed to delete the device. Please exercise with cautions as this not a reversible action.
